FC3, Kernel Panic error, System not working, Please help.
Ever since I upgraded to FC3 I have been getting Kernel Panic errors. I am sure my drive is fine. I found, after some browsing. It maybe because my IDE module drivers are not installed or both IDE and SATA drivers are installed when I dont need SATA.
So, how do I remove the modules that I dont need?
After that, how do I compile my Kernel?
Thanks in advanced.

Just an update, I think i figured out the original problem. Recently I change my AGP in my bios to read 256 Mb, my card is a 128 card, but my only other option was 64 mb. So I figure 256 should take care of the 128. Well, since I did that my kernel reported these errors then having to hard shutdown the computer it rendered my hard drive as read only. After repairing the hard disk with fsck I was able to boot. But still get kernel panic errors.
So I change the 256mb AGP to 64mb AGP in the bios. This seemed to immidiatly speed things up and the error has not been seen as of yet.
But now, I have a new problem. My GUI is not allowing me to login. Not sure how to resolve this. Any suggestions.

Another update, ok. So I logged in failsafe and then I did a rpmdb --rebuilddb . this seemed to fix some more problems.
So, I still would like some help in solving system log errors and so on. Or maybe a recommendation for a book that I can buy or a course that I can take to get me out of the dark with solving these kernel problems.
Thanks for any recommendations.

Thanks for the information. Well, hopfully things will clear up. What I thought might be some problems with hardware; where problems with the FC3 code. I have successfully upgraded just about every RPM to the FC3 updates. This has seemed to relieve alot of stress on the computer. Less errors. I am back to were I was when I deciced to upgrade FC2 to FC3. Main reason for the upgrade was because I had problems with xine and my ipod not reading correctly. I was reading that FC3 had some newly reworked code for both these items. So I decided to try the upgrade.
I DO NOT plan to upgrade to the next release of Fedora Core after I delt with these problems. Last time I upgrade this system. I will continue to patch and update the RPM's for this distro. With linux, its like wine, the older it gets, the better it works.
Now its time to fix the NVIDIA drivers, once that's all set. I will be good to go. I have found out some interesting things about the NVIDIA drivers. I may type up a How-to for Fedora Core 3.
