FC2 Package Management System - Broken?

I am running FC2 Gnome. There is an option under 'system settings' for packagement management called add/remove applications. When I attempt to update or add an application from it, I get CD not recognized errors. Both of my optical drives mount properly when a disk is inserted and I can browse their contents from console. Has anyone else seen this broken management system problem? Any ideas? I use both apt-get(synaptic) and yum, so please do not suggest those alternatives. I just want to fix this package management error. I found a couple of instances of this on google but no solution.

I found the answer on another forum.

"The problem is caused by CD automounting interfering with CD recognition in system-config-packages: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzill...g.cgi?id=124033

Sorry but your link seems to be broken. It is a helpful link. Yesterday I added Kernel and Development packages to a "desk top" install. I caused it to not recognize the FC2 DVD that I have. So not knowing what the problem was I resorted to the CD's. That required inserting disk 2 then 3 then 2 then 1 then 2,1,2,1,2,1 and finally 2. I also had to unmount each time. What a pain. I would think that system-config-packages would be able to take all of the files it needs from each disk as it is inserted once, but sadly no.

Today I confirmed my original mistake. What I had done was to use the button on the drive to close it. Then I suppose the automount got involved and confused the matter.

When using system-config-packages select what you want to add, when the drive opens, put the disk in the tray and then with your mouse select OK. The drive will then close and read the disk. It read from the DVD as expected. All is well again.
