Question FC2 IEEE 1394 support?

just a general question. Does Fedora Core 2 i386 have support for firewire built in? Also, does Fedora Core 2 AMD64 have support for firewire? If so, could anyone recommend a specific card?

There is kernel support for Firewire in 2.4 and 2.6

I do not use firewire so I have never actually used it on FC1 or FC2, but I know from compiling both kernels many times that the drivers are there.

FC2 for i386 has firewire disabled, but you can add it back with files and info from here:

http://www.ic.unicamp.br/~oliva/snapshots/FC2-firewire/
http://people.redhat.com/aoliva/snapshots/FC2-firewire/

I don't know anyting about AMD64, or a good card to recommend -- I'm on a laptop.
