FC14 clone eth x changes
I cloned a drive on identical systems. When I booted the eth numbers went from eth0-3 to eth8 eth9 eth 11 eth13.
I assume some file is still holding the eth0 based on mac or pci serial or something. Any idea the easy way to fix it? I thought I could just delete network-scripts eth files but that didn't fix it. |
Hi
You should find the entires in /etc/sysconfig/hwconf, it sounds like its detected the new devices and added them into the device list. also check /etc/modprobe.conf it should have an entry for each device in it. |
Thanks. I'll try that next time. I ended up reloading the system from scratch.
I just didn't know where to look for that file since I don't normally work much with fedora. I am kind of left looking up kuzu, hal and hwbrowser to see if I can just list it or reset it. I am marking this a solved and thank you for your assistance. Any additional information would be fine and helpful. |
Darn,
I checked that out. No /etc/sysconfig/hwconf, /etc/modprobe.conf Or am I blind. |
