Ok, I just installed FC5 on a new harddrive. The installation went flawlessly. Now my question is how I can get the wireless going. Where should I look for setting such as WPA.....etc.
Do you have the Intel915 graphic driver set? FC4 failed miserably for me because it would not boot into X. Got as far as installed and customized, but X wouldn't boot with non-VESA drivers (with that, what's the point?) of the Intel915 as other members on this board have the same problems.
Yes, I do have the Intel graphic set to 800x600 after the installation. I'm not too happy about it. I also have a problem with Firefox 1.5.0.1 which did not take the plugin of Flash.
I had problems with suspend/resume in the past with FC4 on Inspiron 6000. I finally gave up trying after a while. Does anyone know if suspend works better out of the box on this laptop?
Hi, I've just intalled FC5 on my Inspiron 6000, even suspend (and it works very well). I haven't checked the DVD-DMA problem yet, but think it is still there...
What are your system specs, or your service tag so other can compare theirs?
With all the different options on the insprion it doesn't help anyone by saying it works for you without giving details. It's akin to saying "my car works just fine today, I don't understand why yours doesn't".
