Now I have searched for this error of "glib-compile-schemas not found" but I havnt been able to get help that is good enough to solve this problem. Can any one please help me solve this problem. On the Gnome Documentation Library page http://library.gnome.org/devel/gio/u...e-schemas.html, it says I should find a schemas directory under /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas but there is no such "schema" directory under glib-2.0 in my system.

Thanks for your help,

bullet.

Welcome to LQ.

# 'yum install empathy' : will install version 2.28.2.

git clone git://git.gnome.org/empathy && cd empathy/ && sh autogen.sh
> > This is the "version for next year" and you have an OS from last year.
Will possibly build OK on Fedora 15 ( And may be on Fedora 14 ? ).
None of the dependencies are available for Fedora 12.

Building an ealier version : It is still very complex to do ....

... and may not be possible at all.

Fedora 14 means : # 'yum install empathy'
provides empathy-2.32.0.1-2.fc14

Fedora 15 : You will have to wait another half year.

About building empathy yourself : Did you read all this ..
