F8 install hangs @ dependency check

alt+F3 reveals that the hang occurs with: "no package match to remove"

any workarounds?

cheers,

Um, a little more detail please? What are you doing? What command are you entering?

Um, as far as detail, that's about it - the installation starts, I'm upgrading from F7; using F8 iso on dvd; I boot dvd, enter all the relevant info, then early in the install process (text install), it shows that it's checking dependencies, and hangs @ 26%. After leaving it for 3 hours, I see that there's no progress, and an <Alt>F3 shows that it has stopped with the message: "no package match to remove."

I've run the media test, and the media is fine.

cheers,

I've considered and tried that, but it won't upgrade - rather it'll do a fresh install...I *really* would rather not....

Perhaps a *yum* upgrade....

cheers,

The DVD install hangs at '/sbin/loader' for me. I tried 'yum upgrade' and it complains about a couple of my media codecs (that F7 keeps prompting me to upgrade but I refuse because it breaks them).
