F15: gpointing-device-settings problem

Hi,

I upgraded from Fedora 14 to Fedora 15 with preupgrade. Now my trackpoint mouse's Wheel emulation doesn't work consistently.

I can get it to work by configuring it on the Gpointing Device Settings application. The problem rises up when I either reboot the machine or log out and log back in. After these two actions the configuration has somehow been reset.

What to do to get that configuration to work consistently even on reboot or login situation?

Computer: IBM T60P type 2008

Thanks again in advance!

EDIT: I've found out at a different forum that I should apparently make sure gnome-settings-daemon will autostart on reboot. Where can I find it?

I followed these instructions: http://linuxandfriends.com/2011/06/0...ms-in-gnome-3/
And added this file to autostart: /usr/libexec/gnome-settings-daemon

But nothing happened and I'm still where I started. Any other ideas how to get around this problem?

currently i am not running Gnome 3 so ...
but with fedora and gnome 3 i would not be at all surprised that gnome2 applications do not work in gnome3
That they have not yet been ported to gnome 3 is no surprise.

wait 6 to 12 months and most of the gnome 2 apps should be ported over to 3 .

Okay, it works manually - if I configure it every time - but might not be saved 'cos it's old?
