F11 NetworkManager Freezes on Left Click after Suspend

In more detail, the NetworkManager/Network/Wireless failure looks like this:

1) I connect to the local Wireless Access point

2) I close the lid, or explicitly suspend the machine.

3) I unsuspend, observing that the NetworkManager Applet is now
displaying the white 'x' in the red box

4) I left click on the icon, everything freezes up for about a minute.

5) When it unfreezes, if I restart the whole machine, everything
works. But if instead I restart just the applet (using
System:Administration:Services), or just the network (using
Applications:System Tools:System Monitor), it no longer freezes, but
it claims: "No network devices available"

Of course, the standard info: Release 11, Kernel
2.6.30.8-64.fc11.i686.PAE Gnome 2.26.3

BTW: now that I have restarted the machine and got it connected again,
I notice something in 5) that I didn't notice before: when I right
click on the NetworkManager icon, the line "Wireless is Enabled" is
missing. Yes, that is right: it is not displaying 'disabled (i.e. no
check mark)', it is completely missing.

Before posting this, I did queries on "Network Manager Wireless"
"Network Manager Wifi" and "NetworkManager WiFi suspend". Nothing
useful/relevant showed up.

Oh, yeah: FC11 has NetworkManager 0.7.1. For some reason, nm-applet is
included too (aren't these two incompatible?), but it is always sleeping.

Finally, does this really have to do with Suspend rather than with Wireless Support for Networking or with NetworkManager? But surely the latter should not freeze on left-click; yet this behavior is fairly frequent on my system.

It happened again to me this morning. Does no one have any explanation for this freezing behavior? Or for why wireless disappears?
