First, i don't have ~/.gtkrc-2.0, but ~/.gtkrc and ~/.gtkrc-1.2-gnome2
The firs one has
Code:
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
include "/usr/share/themes/Bluecurve/gtk-2.0/gtkrc"
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
and ~/.gtkrc-1.2-gnome2 has
Code:
# Autowritten by gnome-settings-daemon. Do not edit
include "/home/aviel/.gtkrc.mine"
I added a file /home/aviel/.gtkrc.mine and put it
gtk-icon-theme-name="gnome"
and it still didn't help.
I must also mention that i didn't do the chmod -R 755 line, because it didn't seem necessary, and it is very hard to reverse such a command.
Any other ideas?

Installing a later version of the "hicolor-icon-theme" package for your distribution should fix your problem, especially if you upgraded "gnome-icon-theme".
