Hi, I have an FC4 system with Evolution installed and configured for our Exchange Server - it works great. Here are some details from that system:
Code:
# uname -a
Linux new-host-2 2.6.16-1.2111_FC4 #1 Sat May 20 19:59:40 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
# rpm -qa | grep evolution
evolution-data-server-1.2.3-2.fc4
evolution-connector-2.2.2-5
evolution-2.2.3-4.fc4
My FC5 machine, clean install, and updated has a broken Evolution installation. Meaning, when updated to the latest evolution components and evolution starts downloading messages for 'offline' use, it usually times out and takes up 100% of my cpu. If I disable the offline option I can use it. I resorted to reverting back the rpms to earlier versions so that at least the 'offline' mode works:
Code:
#uname -a
Linux new-host-6 2.6.16-1.2122_FC5smp #1 SMP Sun May 21 15:18:32 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
# rpm -qa | grep evolution
evolution-connector-2.6.1-1.fc5.1
evolution-2.6.1-1.fc5.2
evolution-data-server-1.6.1-1.fc5.2
evolution-webcal-2.4.1-3.2
Whis these rpms I can check mail and download messages for 'offline' use. However I cannot use the Global Address List. Here is the error popup that evolution shows me when I try to go to 'Contacts>Global Address List'
Error Loading Address Book. We were unable to open the address book. This either means you have entered and incorrect web URI, or the server is unreachable.
I know the settings are right though, because my fc4 machine works fine.
Here is command line output from starting evolution to the error message:
Code:
CalDAV Eplugin starting up ...
** (evolution-2.6:28630): WARNING **: LDAP authentication failed (0x31)
evolution-shell-Message: Killing old version of evolution-data-server...
(evolution-2.6:28630): camel-WARNING **: camel_exception_get_id called with NULL parameter.
eab-widgets-Message: in search_activated
(evolution-2.6:28630): e-data-server-ui-WARNING **: ENameSelectorDialog failed to open book!
I can't revert back to the working versions that are on my fc4 machine because the evolution-connector rpm required libcrypto.so.5 which is in an earlier version of the openssl package and if I go down that road I end up in real dependency hell.
Does anyone know anything about this issue, or see a way that I can get this working? Thanks for your help.
