I am trying to install Fedora Core 3 and from the time the installer asks about language preference until the time it actually is ready to start writing files to the installation drive I get the following message:

Assertion (Heads < 256) at disk_dos.c:486 in function
probe_partition_for_geom() failed

If I select "Ignore" I get six or eight more messages, all similar to this one, referring to cylinders, sectors and heads. At each step of the install process the same thing occurs but if I select "Ignore" the install continues. Finally, when the installer warns that it is about to write files to the desired installation drive it aborts and lists again all the error messages that it has generated to this point.
