I am using Fedora Core 1 and want to install the above titled scanner.
The sane related rpm are as follows :

sane-frontends-1.0.11-3

Also downloaded iscan-2.8.0-1.i386.rpm for gcc-3.2/gcc3.3.

The necessary product code and the vendor code has been inserted by "insmod scanner vendor=XXXXXX product=XXXXX".

I am able to find the scanner with "sane-find-scanner". The output of lsmod is as follows :

The content of the file /etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf is as follows :

Now whenever in terminal window i am issuing command as follows :

[root@localhost sane.d]# iscan

then a window is opened with the error message :

"Could not send command to scanner. Check scanner's status."

Fedora Core 1 hasn't been supported for over two years. Get yourself a copy of something more recent (Fedora 7 now, Fedora 8 next week).

Additonally, according to this
there's a non-free plugin required.
