Question enabling PAE on FC8

Greetings

I have a 32 bits version of FC8 on a system with more than 4G of physical RAM and PAE capable CPU, but in the output of free -m I only can see 2G, I have seen in several forums that I must enable the PAE option by recompiling the kernel, but my question is how this is done?

thanks in advance

No need to build a kernel, there should be one available for download with PAE in the name. Just do a normal install, and it should show up in your boot options.

When you go to upgrade from F8 I would switch to 64bit. There are very few apps that are not supported in 64bit now.

I could enable PAE

I just installed the kernel-PAE-2.6.23.1-42.fc8 RPM and modified grub.conf to boot the kernel with PAE

Thank you all
