DVD::Rip on Fedora 9 x86_64

Hi Guys,

Fedora 9 64bit works like a charm here except for this one dvd::rip.

Here is the output
Quote:
[hitboxx@Mothership Desktop]$ dvdrip
Can't locate Video/DVDRip.pm in @INC (@INC contains: lib /usr/lib64/perl5/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/local/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/bin/dvdrip line 96.
[hitboxx@Mothership Desktop]$
The file DVDRip.pm is at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Video. What shall I do now, am I to syslink them, if so, how, I am getting confused. Need some advice. Thanks

I'd recommend going in as root and

perl -e shell -MCPAN
cpan>install Video::DVDRip

That should get you the version that belongs with Perl 5.10. Don't mix Perl versions...

Thanks for the reply, but this is what I get upon entering the first command
Quote:
Can't locate CPAN.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib64/perl5/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/local/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .).
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.
And I didn't mix any Perl versions, I don't know that much , all I did was install dvd::rip from freshrpms repo IIRC.

I think you should install perl first. Then you'll get CPAN.If you get CPAn you can get anything related to perl.

If you want to get perl try this

"yum install perl"

hey, that worked for me - only change was that cpan needed to be in caps - "yum install perl-CPAN".
