DVD Burner....

1st I'll be getting a DVD Burner here soon...shall I slap it in my Windows box or Linux box? :o :)

Also, anything I need to know assuming I do put it in my Linux box. Is it gonna need a certain amount of tmp space or anything? Never burned CD's let alone DVD's on Linux (although I'm sure it'd be the same idea to a degree...just different media).

use K3B for burning CDs and DVDs

It is very much like Nero in Windows, but much easier :)

If you're looking at ripping dvd's then I suggest atleast doing the ripping on a windows box. IMHO dvdshrink is way ahead of anything availible for linux. From there you can burn them with linux.

I am more interested in data backup more than anything else with a DVD Burner...and of course maybe some audio CD's and what not. As for ripping, DVD's....I somehow doubt it.
