Hello,
Could you explain in better detail for us what you are trying to accomplish? I am trying to follow what you are saying, but I can not figure it out. Cheers, Josh |
i am using fedora 13,when i navigate to a drive (places->drive) in a gnome desktop.its getting opened with vlc player.Actual expectation is to opened via file explorer.
Thanks Rajesh |
Ahh ok... Can you post the contents of your .local/share/applications/mimeapps.list file for me?

i didnt have the mimeapps.list file in my desktop.any other way . Thanks Rajesh |
I know it is there....
It is located within your home directory. For example, on my system: Code:
/home/casper/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list |
Quote:
please see my files in that path [root@RajesH share]# pwd /home/rajesh/.local/share [root@RajesH share]# ls -a . .. Trash [root@RajesH share]# thanks rajesh |
Only drives or folders too? If folders also open with vlc, then open nautilus, then right click on any folder and select "open with other application". Then select "open folder" from the list, or may be "file manager".

Told you it was there.... :p
Edit that file, and make it reflect the following: Code:

No problem! I wonder why this has been an issue for many users in the past..... I might file a bug report on the gnome bug tracker website. Anyways.... Mark your thread as solved using the thread tools, located at the top of the page. Thanks!
Cheers, Josh |
