does fc3 4cd version + 1 rescue cd come with kernel src ?

the thread says it all, i wanna ask if the 4 cd version of fc3 along with 1 rescue cd comes along with the kernel source code or not ...im asking this because im having a hard time with the ati drivers... so id further like to ask if it fulfills all the prerequisites for the ati proprietary drivers ?

i don't think it does. you can check the fedora.redhat.com site for details.

just a curious question I have been pondering. If kernel-source is so necessary for so many programs Why isn't it on the CD? Its only about 40 MB and the 4th cd is only 300 MB large.

i believe they have given libraries that are necessary to compile new drivers for things like network cards, and some other likely additions so you can build kernel modules, but this doesn't require source. if you have some heavy duty kernel building to do, you will have to get the source rpm's.
