Do I need to add mirrors/repos to yum?

After using apt for my initial downloading, I decided to try yum (mostly to install nvidia drivers). When I went to the fedorafaq, it gave me the commands for installing the drivers, however when I entered them it returned the message I get a bunch of "no match arguments" and it finally returns "nothing to do." So do I need to add mirrors/repos to the yum.config or something?

If a package isn't found, then it doesn't exist in any of the repositories you have configured. Add the repositories to to your /etc/yum.conf.

Addressed to Virp00:

On a similar post, I saw the suggestion, 'Go to the Unofficial Fedora FAQ ( http://www.fedorafaq.org/ ), and substitute his /etc/yum.conf file for your own.'

I looked at it, and it appeared to be a good idea to me.
