Hello all, back around kernel 2.6.5 I installed the Nvidia driver. Worked great... Then I upgraded the kernel, so had to reinstall the driver... just did the whole init 3, sh NVIDIA... thing, and smooth sailing... kept working great... until I upgraded from 2.6.8-1.521 to 2.6.9-1.6FC2.. the NVIDIA installer was failing and complaining, and continues to fail and complain to this day (with the 2.6.10 kernel) when I try to run the install.. the error message I get is:
Quote:
nvidia: Unknown symbol __VMALLOC_RESERVE
nvidia: Unknown symbol pci_find_class
ERROR: Unable to load the kernel module 'nvidia.ko'. This is most likely
because the kernel module was built using the wrong kernel source files.
Please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for your
kernel; on Red Hat Linux systems, for example, be sure you have the
'kernel-source' rpm installed. If you know the correct kernel source
files are installed, you may specify the kernel source path with the
'--kernel-source-path' commandline option.

I made sure the kernel source package was installed each time, and even tried the --kernel-source-path thing without success.
I did a search on this forum, and noticed people advocating downloading some rpms from
http://rebus.webz.cz/ ...does the NVIDIA installer no longer work with current Fedora kernels? Or am I once again in that peculiar Linux hell of "Dunno.. worked fine for me!"
Maybe I'm just doing something stupid..
thanks all for any help..
