Dell Studio 1555. Audio solution. Video question

Hi!
I am very new to this linux world but find it very interesting.
Just purchased a Dell Studio 1555 and installed fedora 11 on it. However, sound did not work, so after much searching I finally found an easy solution, which I'd like to share with other newbies having the same problem as me.
I have no idea what it does or why it works, and why audio didn't work right after installing fedora. If there is an easy explanation I would like to know for the future.

Audio solution
Login as root
Go to folder /etc/modprobe.d
Create a new file and name it modprobe.conf (I copied another one, changed its name and deleted its content, just in case there was some permission issues or whatever)
Add a new line
Code:
options snd-hda-intel model=dell-m6
Save and restart

For the video part...
I already had to reinstall fedora because I apparently installed wrong drivers (went to AMD page, but got some problems during the installation) and had no idea as how to revert to the default drivers while on the console mode (mode 3 I think it's called).

So, where do I have to look for some working ATI 4570 drivers, so when they come out I can try them? (any link will be very welcome).
Has anyone with this laptop be already able to install working graphics drivers?

Hope in the future I will able to definitely remove Vista from my dual boot ; )

This info is very useful, however I was trying to install FC2 and was geeting an issue with the drivers, i think i need to install FC11.

By the way does anyone know which version of Linux can be installed on the DELL Studion 1555 laptop and also which version of Oracle is supported by that Linux version

Thanks

Those are not the 'wrong' drivers. Check out the explanation given here - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...3/#post3647182
