Custom Fedora image for PXE
Hi all,
I got PXE setup with Fedora Core 8, and i use this to set up my servers. My problem is that i have a certain spec of packages that i always install , and each time i need to go through all the steps to select packages and so on. I'd like to try to two things if possible. 1) Make a 'custom' image from the fedora core 8 image with all the packages i need, and set this up in my pxe. Maybe even add a couple of packages not included in the dvd. If my new server boots up, it must auto install these packages, without me needing to select/deselect. Is this at all possible? Where will i start? 2) The second thing i'm interested in is setting up a bunch of client workstations that get a image from a server and loads this up. Each client workstation will not have a harddrive and each client will work on the server. Where can i start to get this up and running? Thanks |
For the 1st question. Look at "kickstart" You can fill a kickstart file full of information that will get loaded upon installation.
