cups hangs on startup -fedora fc2
I install fc2 on my ecs laptop without any problems. i opted not to install printer support, because i dont use one. installation runs fine, but the system hangs during cups load. why should this happen? i am not using it. is there a way to disable it? is there a way to remove it from the startup list? i know enough of linux to get around, but not enough to go in and change things around. i am about to try installing fc2 with printing support and see what happens, but any suggestions are welcome...

I have the same problem with FC2 and a custom compiled 2.6.7 kernel, works fine with custom compile 2.6.6.
It hangs while loading smartd, only the first time the machine is switched on, if I reset it then it boots up fine. |
