Smile crc error occur when I boot with FC6 CD for installation


I want to install FC6 on the new SATA HD and I boot with FC6 CD. It display the general screen and prompt "boot:" for command. No matter i just press enter or any linux <option>, it returns
"uncompressing linux
crc error
system halted "
after loading kenel and init.

what's the matter? i am sure my boot disk is not corrupted since i have tried other computer. then what's wrong of my computer?

Bios version: GC11020M.86A.1065.2006.0502.1638
CPU: intel(R) celeron(R) D CPU 2.80GHz
Motherboard: intel D102GGC2
system bus and memory speed: 533MHz
Ram: single 512MB
HD: SATA 82.3GB

You might have a bad .iso image of the CD. If that's the case, you just need to either re-burn the image at a much slower speed or download the image again from a different source. I have had troubles with installing Fedora in the past. Almost all of my troubles were with the installation CDs. I just went to a different distro, but that doesn't solve YOUR problem. Give that a shot and see what happens.

To find whether the problem is in the ISO or just in the burning, compute the md5sum of the ISO (can take a few minutes) and compare it with the published sum.

thanks all, i have solved the problem in the next day that its because the computer CD rom isn't compatible with the motherboard, i have used the other CD rom and it works.
