cpuspeed - throttling not supported?

I'm having a problem with cpuspeed.

It keeps on telling me that it can't start due to a driver issue. I don't know what driver to tell it to use in cpuspeed.conf. My cpu is a Intel Pentium-M 1.0GHz Ultra-Low Voltage. I know it supports throttling, since that worked in Gentoo, however, I don't know how to enable it in Fedora (without recompiling the kernel, which I'd rather avoid doing).

I tried /sbin/modprobe acpi-cpufreq, but that told me that it couldn't detect the hardware or something.

Help here would be greatly appreciated. I googled but I only got mailing list archives full of disgruntled FC3 users that didn't know what to do (actually I found the same thread mirrored across multiple sites - sorta strange.)

Thanks for any help! (PS: I'm using FC6 - might be relevant).

Is this clean FC6 install or have you upgraded old system? I upgraded my FC3 to FC5 and cpuspeed stopped working. Same apllies if upgrading from FC4. Reasons for this are found in every .rpmnew file which you found in your system. Those are files that upgrade operation failed to do automatic updates. They are typical scripts in /etc directory,
