CD/DVD CREATOR - nautilus - unhandled error

hi guys,

i am getting this error when trying to burn a dvd with some directories:

Quote:
There was an error writing to the disc:
Unhandled error, aborting
i think it could be some file names, but i dont know which ones and which the encoding must be.

i tried a conmv command in order to be sure about file names encoding, but it looks fine:

Code:
convmv -f iso-8859-7 -t utf8 * -r
Your Perl version has fleas #37757 #49830
Starting a dry run without changes...
No changes to your files done. Use --notest to finally rename the files.
what does mind "unhandled error" ... is there somewhere a log?
how can i check encodings?
where can i check the cd/dvd configuration?
any aideas ?

i have fedora9, nautilus 2.22.3

thanks in advance,

cheers,

hector

You may have hit a Perl bug. Here is a description of two relevant Perl bugs:

http://www.j3e.de/linux/convmv/

What versions of Perl and convmv are you using?

hi jailbait,

thanks for answer,

Code:
perl -version

This is perl, v5.10.0 built for i386-linux-thread-multi

Copyright 1987-2007, Larry Wall

Code:
 convmv
convmv 1.12 - converts filenames from one encoding to another
Copyright (C) 2003-2008 Bjoern JACKE <bjoern@j3e.de>

i wonder if it is something related to the DVD- and DVD+ types,
taking a look at the device manager i got this compatibility:

Quote:
media compatibility:
CD-ROM/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-ROM/DVD+R/DVD+R DL/DVD+RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW

model: DVDRW SHW-160P6S

vendor: LITE-ON
firmware version: PS0A

xcdroast says:

Quote:
Device seems to be: Generic mmc2 DVD-R/DVD-RW.
which means it recognizes my unit as a DVD minus; however it is a DVDplus, so i cant burn my DVD+ media :-(

cheers,

hector
