Can't start X server
I installed a new program named compupic. It did not work and gave me the following message:
root@localhost compupic]# compupic
compupic: dynamic-link.h:57: elf_get_dynamic_info: Assertion `! "bad dynamic tag"' failed.
Aborted
[root@localhost compupic]#
After rebooting my system, I can not start X server. Does any body know what I should do?
I tried upgrading the system to install the Fedora missing files but did not work.

Thanks for reply. How can I do that?
The system did ask me if I want to reconfigure my x server and I selected ok and tried to restart X but no success.

pico /etc/X11/XF86Config
or vi /etc/X11/XF86Config.
Review everything and make sure its all correct. Try to get error messages on why its failing, you can find those in the log file.

I would recommend starting over with "Xconfigurator"

Thanks for help. I did make corrections in the /etc/X11/XF86Config file using the vim but unfortunately did not work. I found this message in the log:
could not init from path element unix/:7100, removing from list
Fatal server error
could not open default font "fixed"
What should I do?

I ran into the 7100 problem when I tried to load and update debian. What it turned out to be was that I had done an update and the fonts had changed. look in the xf86config file for 7100 and change to 7110. if you had done an update, it should have told you to do this if you did similar updates as I, but don't know if this will help under fedora.

Thanks for reply. I have typed:
redhat-config-xfree86
then hit enter and got the following:
xconfig.py: Fatal IO error 2 (connection reset by peer) on x server:17.0

Look in /usr/sbin and see what configuration tools you have.

fedora doesnt have it. they have an only tool to configure X. and it is redhat-config-xfree86
xf86config was removed in fedora. u may configure it manually. or search /etc/X11 directory if there is an backup file XF86config.
