Can I increase the size of a physical volume in an lvm group? If so, how?
I installed FC11 (with lvm2) on a system running Kubuntu. I'm considering eliminating Kubuntu in favor of FC and would like to preserve the data I have stored in the Kubuntu partitions. I would like to know if it is possible to steal some available free space from a Kubuntu partition and add it to an adjacent physical volume in the FC lvm group?
Additional possibly irrelevant information: There are two hard disks in the system. Both Kubuntu and FC use partitions on both disks. There is not sufficient free space to simply copy the data from one to the other.
I've read a bit on the web about increasing the size of a logical volume, but that seems to involve only moving space from one logical volume to another.
Thanks,
Mike
