Can't copy audio CDs on FC5 w/ GNOME

Hello
I'm trying to make a copy of an audio CD. This CD is fine and can be played on my computer using various players (i.e. gnome-cd).
My CD-ROM is on /dev/hdc and my CD/DVD-RW (burner) is on /dev/hdd.

However:
1) When I try to use 'Right Mouse->Copy Disk...' it says;
Code:
File image creation failed
Unknown error
2) When I type 'dd if=/dev/hdc of=foo.iso' it says;
Code:
dd: reading `/dev/hdc': Input/output error
0+0 records in
0+0 records out
0 bytes (0 B) copied, 0.82169 seconds, 0.0 kB/s
3) And when I do the same with ddrescue, I get an enormous amount of I/O error messages, and an empty iso file (when I violently kill ddrescue, that is).
4) When I type 'isoinfo -d -i /dev/hdc' I get;
Code:
isoinfo: Input/output error. Read error on old image
5) And when I try 'cdrecord -v dev=/dev/hdd -isosize /dev/hdc' it stalls forever and does nothing.

I use FC5 w/ Kernel 2.6.18(-1.2239) & GNOME 2.14

Any ideas? Help?
Thanks!!!
Oded R.

Audio CDs don't have an iso file system on them. If you want to copy a CD to your hard drive, rip it with cdparanoia

Thanks for the advice.
But still, if I want to make an exact copy, why can't I use "cdrecord -v dev=/dev/hdd -isosize /dev/hdc"? Why does it stall?

Thank you very much,
O.R.

I don't know, I use cdrdao to copy audio CDs
Code:
cdrdao copy --source-device /dev/hdc --device /dev/hdd
