Can't rum MySQL on FC4

Hey, I can't run MySQL that comes with Fedora 4. If I run it through the Services panel, it shows:

mysqld failed. The error was: Initialization MySQL database:  Neither host 'localhost.localdomain' nor 'localhost' could be looked up with
/usr/bin/resolveip
Please configure the 'hostname' command to return a correct hostname.
If you want to solve this at a later stage, restart this script with
the --force option
[FAILED]

Can you help me?

Hmm, what is in /etc/hosts ?

Do you have a line like this ?

127.0.0.1               myhost localhost.localdomain localhost

Did you try the resolveip command from the command line to see if any errors are returned ?

My /etc/hosts is empty... Maybe that's the problem? and when I type

resolveip localhost

it gives me

Code:

resolveip: Unable to find hostid for 'localhost': try again

Is the /etc/hosts file the problem?

add this line to /etc/hosts:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
