Burning DVD fails in FC3 using kern 2.6.9-1.681_FC3

I have a Dell Latitude D800. 2nd HD installed in Bay. That's where Fedora lives.
In the USB-attached D-Bay, I have a DVD+R drive.

When I run K3b, it seems like it is successful. I look at the DVD and it has definitely been burned.

When I pop the DVD back in, Nautilus says the DVD is blank.

At the command line, it is also showing as blank. Location: "/media/cdrecorder"

Using FC3 with 681 kernel.

Tried using mkisofs, growisofs...nothing makes a successful burn.

Many coasters have been made.

Any ideas? Please??

I haven't verified this personally, but I have 2.6.8.1 on FC2 as well and I am unable to burn more than one track at a time. I turned off the "autoplay" "feature" of gnome thinking that may be conflicting. No joy.

Then, I found on another list:
Quote:

2.6.8.1 is broken and does not allow cdrecord to work in suid root mode.

(this is the author of cdrecord, Jörg Schilling)

I'm considering running up2date and updating my kernel to see if that helps.

Full Kernel version is 2.6.9-1.681_FC3

The 681 was the revision number.

The full kernel version is 2.6.9-1.681_FC3.

Sorry.
