"Starting capi4linux: udevd-work[584]: kernel-provided name 'capi' and NAME= 'capi20' disagree, please use SYMLINK+= or change the kernel to provide the proper name"
Everytime,i am getting this above boot message before log in screen when other services started loading And when i get into /lib/udev/devices and "ls -ltr"i m getting "lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 13 Nov 20 07:00 MAKEDEV -> /sbin/MAKEDEV" along with others . But "less MAKEDEV"gives"MAKEDEV: No such file or directory" output. IN /sbin directory MAKEDEV file is not present What does that above error mean?Using Fedora 14;new to linux(about 2 month) and want to learn it Plz explain Thanks in advance :) |
If Fedora uses standard udev directories, you can find the problem rule by grep capi20 * in /etc/udev/rules.d and /lib/udev/rules.d and then make the suggested change from NAME='capi20' to SYMLINK+='capi20'. That might fix it.

Please start a new thread Sayali. Adding to old threads is unhelpful unless you are adding new solution information. If you get a solution to your question you cannot mark this thread solved because it is not your thread.
Meanwhile, have you tried the original solution which is anyway what the message suggests? |
