boot into higher text resolution?

Hi,

how can I make Fedora boot into a higher text resolution than the default 25 lines? I've been using Mandrake before and that booted into something like 50 lines or so.

Thanks,
Sascha

Try passing "vga=791" to your kernel as a parameter at boot time.

This thread has some interesting answers: http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/.../msg04862.html. But if you don't get the boot: prompt when you boot up, do your research and make sure your kernel supports this mode before changing lilo.conf, rerunning /sbin/lilo and rebooting...!

A good boot disk is never a bad thing to have around, in case you suddenly need to restore lilo.conf.

cool,
Laura

vga=788 will give you 36 lines. You can also use vga=ask and pick the resolution during bootup. The man page for lilo may give the legal vga options.
