boot hangs at "configuring kernel parameters"
I read the previous post that mentioned installing the nvidia driver, and I seem to have the same problem. As this was the first thing I tried doing with linux, I don't have a clue what to do with my rescue disc, once I get past logging in as root. I made a backup of my xorg.conf ,but can't figure out how to access it, or rename it, or edit the original back to how it was.
I know I may seem to be asking a really stupid ? that I should find the answer to on my own, but as I am stuck using xp to post here right now, I don't want to install a bunch of progs to make xp to seriously surf the net, just to scrap it in a week or 2. THanks for the help!!!! |
Does it help when you edit your kernel parameters (assuming that you are using grub) to remove the rhgb part and adding a '3' (three) to the line, so it won't use X.
The machine should come up normally. |
Thank you for the help- problem solved through that.
