Best way to upgrade? PreUpgrade or through DVD?

I've read about a few methods of upgrading Fedora and I'd like to know what you find to be best - Preupgrade or through the DVD?

The preferred method is to do a fresh install but people (including me) are generally lazy and don't want to have to reconfigure everything. Sometimes there may be issues with configuration options for applications changing and old config no longer being ideal or possibly even functional (recent preupgrade grub2 issue for example). Also an upgrade to a new filesystem may not perform as well as a fresh install.

My only advice would be to ensure you have all the current updates before running preupgrade if thats the path you choose, then after the upgrade search the filesystem for *.rpmnew/*.rpmsave and compare them with your original configs.

I have found that using the DVD to upgrade to Fedora 16 to work best e.g. F15>F16.

I have used the network install CD since F10. This is essentially the yum upgrade I believe, but without the chances of making mistakes. The main benefits to me are: 1. when you are done, your system is up to date. No need to run yum to get all updates since the DVD was released and 2. I have some systems without DVD drives.
