Attempting to install Fedora 18 on a thumb drive

Want to install Fedora on thumb drive then multiboot to it from Slackware's LILO.
I have gotten to selecting a drive which is a Kingston DataTraveler which is showing 14GB of ext4 and no files. I keep getting the message: Error checking storage configuration. I had used this to install Ubuntu but that was erased (completely including hidden files).
A) why am I receiving this message? Avenues to correct the problem would be appreciated.
B) will this product multiboot as described?

as to a ? i do not know

but for getting lilo to boot

use a udev rule to mount the fedora 18 thumb drive to a mount point that dose not change

then add a chainload to lilo pointing the the /boot partition on the thumb drive
