ATI Radeon Mobility M4 Video Crashes My System

Hi All,

I hope that someone can help me here with this vexing problem....

I put Fedora Core 2 on a Gateway laptop (Solo 9500) and all wrks well except that from time to time the video crashes (large steaks on the screen... vertical rainbow). Usually it happens on start up or shut down. Many times the computer works just fine.
The default video drivr on installation is Radeon 128 Mobility. I tried reducing the resolution as well as trying other drivers from the select menu.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Thanks in advance!

Barney
