ATI + FC3 +nforce2

I have tried this till I am blue in the face and can't get into X after using the ATI drivers for Xorg.

Here are the specs:

Nforce2 chipset
Ati 9500 pro

so I load in FC3 with noacpi

everything is good

then I change the inittab to runlevel 3
and load in the ati drivers from ati.com for Xorg

I create a xorg.conf file using fglrxconfig ( I have tried both the external gart and internal)

then I start X and I stare at a gray screen for a few hours that goes nowhere.

Anyone provide some insight here (this combo is nice in FC1, but would like to move to FC3)

thanks,

DH
