ATI drivers freeze up Screen Saver

Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone here would have any ideas for my situation. I installed the new ati drivers and everything seemed to running ok until i put up a 3D screen saver. Every time I do that and i try to wiggle the mouse to exit the screen saver the computer freezes up. I cant even access the alternate screens to kill X. If anyone has any ideas what I could do about this please let me know. Thanks

u can read on bugzilla bout it, but I guess if you want to "save" your screen make it to standby, later suspend, and finally power down after let's say 30min, ok?>

yea, I suppose I could do that , but the bigger issue here isnt my screen saver, this is an indication of something wrong with the 3D rendering. Thats what im more worried about, not really saving my screen. Besides those screen savers look cool and id like to have them. I know there was some call errors due to a syntax change in the kernel from before, my question was more, is there any code i forgot to change. So with this in mind, if anyone has any ideas please let me know, thanks

There is an issue with the kernel, though I'm not sure if this is a problem with it, but it's a good start!
Here's a good link to follow up with the ati drivers, with the patch included to install.
