Don't use caps anyway. Have you tried manually setting the resolution to a widescreen one, for example 1280x800 or something else with the same relation?

Then things to check with your installer file:
1) is it downloaded directly from ATI?
2) could you use a distribution-specific binary package rather than download and use that file from ATI, because distribution-specific binaries of the driver may work better for that distribution?
3) are you sure the download is not broken, i.e. if a checksum was provided, it matches (and filesize matches etc.)?
4) Did you do exactly like the instructions at ATI's site told you to? Did you read them all trough?
5) Have you tried (instead of ./scriptname...) run, as root,
Code:
sh ati-driver-installer-8.33.6-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Fedora/FC6
6) ..and is "Fedora/FC6" something you should use, or does it matter how you write it?

Thanks all the same .Maybe you aren't using ATI graphic card.

1)yes
2)i ain't able to do that.
3)i am sure
4)what i have downloaded is only the .run file.
5)the same as "./"
6)i can make sure the command i use is correct.

what the critical point is:"cannot stat `fireglcontrolpanel': No such file or directory"and"RPM build errors:
File not found:/tmp/ATI-fglrx-8.33.6-1-6066-root/tmp/ATI-fglrx-8.33.6-1.fc6-root-root/usr/bin/fireglcontrolpanel
"
I think.

help me,please.

Did you read the "sticky" note at the top of the screen in the Fedora sub-forum? (It's the second sticky there.)

It describe a potential bug you can introduce into your system by building the ATI driver from the ATI provided code. (It can mess up the X video libraries.)

It also describes two repositories that provide rpm files with precompiled ATI drivers. I use the driver (kmod-fglrx) from the livna repository. Here's the yum file I use to access that repository:
Code:

Yes,of course ,i had set up the livna repo.for a few days before you told me,but what i wanna point up is:
"#mirrorlist=http://rpm.livna.org/mirrorlist-5"may be wrong,

i think it should be:"#mirrorlist=http://rpm.livna.org/mirrorlist-6"

i can use "aticonfig"command now ,but i still can not find where the"ATI Control"is,there is no "ATI Control"on my system...
i am confused, the result of running the istallation is still like the CODE on my first post in this Thread...need help ...

Well, as you can see, that line is commented out, so it doesn't make any difference. I do believe the -5 is correct, and unrelated to the Fedora version number. (The $releasver does that .) As far as I know, there is no "mirrorlist-6," although I haven't checked lately.

You should have a menu item in the "System" menu for access to the ATI configuration settings. Is that the item for which you're looking? Or did you expect some ATI "applet" like you get on Windows systems? If that's what you want, just create a launcher for the ATI control and put into your task bar.
