Asking for help!!!--Installing *.src.rpm package

When I was installing "kernel-2.6.18-1.2239.fc5.src.rpm", there appeared a warning as following:

[root@localhost Package]# rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.18-1.2239.fc5.src.rpm
warning: kernel-2.6.18-1.2239.fc5.src.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID 4f2a6fd2
1:kernel warning: user brewbuilder does not exist - using root
warning: group brewbuilder does not exist - using root
warning: user brewbuilder does not exist - using root
warning: group brewbuilder does not exist - using root
......
...

If I want to install "kernel-2.6.18-1.2239.fc5.src.rpm" correctly, what should I do?

To install src.rpm use:
Code:
rpmbuild --rebuild package-name.src.rpm
Then somewhere at the end, you'll see a line saying:

wrote: /some/path/package-name.rpm

Install the RPM from there now.

Why don't you install a regular RPM?

I'm having a similar problem trying to install package-name.src.rpm and am about to attempt your suggestion of entering "rpmbuild --rebuild package-name.src.rpm"

I wanted to state why i was installing the src as opposed to just installing a pre-compiled kernel and see whether i am doing something wrong (linux newbie here): I need to make slight modifications to my kernel to get a fibre channel driver working. Rather than make the mods to my existing kernel, i thought i'd install an additional kernel, boot into that new kernel and make the mods (in case some goes awry with driver installation onto the new kernel, i can always boot back into the original kernel).

Also, i might add that this is for a RHEL kernel (2.6.18-8el5)
