Anyone know of a "KDE menu beautification" script?
By which I mean, in many other distros, KDE's menus are organized by default into sub-menus. For example, "Games" is organized into "Arcade," "Board Games," "Card Games," etc. But in FC3 all the games are thrown, in one big mashup, into the "Games" menu. And the placement of some of the programs into some of the menus is rather odd.
(It's as if the Fedora developers were saying, "See, you should be using GNOME.")
Has anyone ever come up with a script that'll organize the KDE menu? (Does anyone else even care about this? )
Writing such a script would be non-trivial as the script would need to be configured for EVERY program on FC3. If there were some way to determine the type of program, it would be far easier.
Thats why I don't use KDE on Redhat/Fedora, its just not done any justice and they tamper with it so much that it ends up mimicking GNOME. Maybe if you compiled it yourself, you could have it theway you want, though if someone had the script you are looking for, it would be easier.
Or in your case, perhaps they're saying, "See, you should be using Debian."
Indeed.
(One good thing about Fedora: You can go to any major bookstore and buy 3" thick tomes documenting it. For example: The Bible from John Wiley & Sons. Unleashed from Sams. A Practical Guide from Pearson Education. For Dummies, again from John Wiley. I personally wish there were comprehensive end-user-oriented books available about other distros.)
