[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
hello,
I am new to linux and I installed FC6 , some days ago I updated alsa and I started getting sound in my system, the motherboard is D946GZis and a core 2 duo processor, yesterday vlc was installed and at that time when I tried playin video the monitor went off....I couldnt do anythin and I had to shutdown the comp.....today when I turned on the comp I tried vlc and it was workin well!!!! but there was no sound which is wierd coz it worked perfectly well till yesterday,so I tried to open alsa mixer and the following error message was displayed
"function snd_mixer_load failed:invalid argument"
I went to the soundcard detection and generated a sound log file which I can send by mail for it is too long to post

what can be done?????
