After Update. I got little space on my harddrive...

I have updated my FC2 with yum successfully. Now I can boot with my new kernel.
But I got approximately 1 GB free dsik space before update, now I have
approximately 500 MB. Is it because the files to use update still on my harddrive or something else?
How can I delete them and Can I delete.

The rpm's are under /var/cache/yum/ somewhere, but do a man yum. I'm sure there is a command like yum clean or something to delete all the downloaded rpms that are installed, if you don't want to do this manually. I would recommend to find them and burn a cd, in case you need them.

Yes,
yum clean packages I believe is the command, just yum clean will ask you what to clean with a list of arguments.

im from turkiye too. unfortunatelly i dont know that distro.
but as i know a good turkish distro will come up soon. now it has a live cd beta edition called pardus. it exists on ftp://ftp.linux.org.tr
it is desinged for destop users. the main distro will have own installer and own packet manager, not based on other distros.

actually there was a good security distro teknowall. but nobody works on it nowadays. as i know developer team is a bit busy with other works. they said that they wanted to go on develepoing teknowall if they had free time.

good luck

Is YUM what I used to update my Fedora 3, I just hit the little red button at the bottom of the screen and it told me I had a whole bunch of updates, then after the update the button turned blue and I do seem to have alot less space then I should. So would I be needing to do the yum clean packages as well??? Or did I use some other form of updating and may need to do something else instead?

then u used up2date. Check in /var/spool/up2date/, there are the hdr (headers) stored. Maybe there are the rpm's also, but from now-on better use yum: http://www.fedorafaq.org/#up2date
