after compiling 2.6.11.7, none of the kernels will boot

Hi everyone!

(Using FC3) I've downloaded and compiled the 2.6.11.7 kernel after this neither 2.6.9 or 2.6.11.7 will load, i've installed the rpm-build package and everything. The message i get when i try to load 2.6.9 is the following:

Mounting root filesystem
mount: error 6 mounting ext3
mount: error 2 mounting none
Switching to new root
switchroot: mount failed: 22
umount /initrd/dev failed: 2
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

When i try too boot the 2.6.11.7, it stops and does nothing after the message that looks something like this:

SELinux: initialized /dev sysfs, type sysfs/, uses genfs_context

Is there a way to restore, without reinstalling FC3?

Thanks

I got the same problem on a debian box.

Unfortunately, I have not found any useful hint on the web, yet! I'll notify you asap

Thanks
