added hdb - want to access old data
Hi - thanks to all here who have helped me so far. I have my Fedora core 3 up and running - Now I added my old corrupted hard drive as a slave drive - I want to get in and access my old /home directory, which makes up about 90% of the drive. What I want to do is make hdb2 a permanent archive for music files, accessed by anyone but only able to be edited by myself. The purpose for this is to keep my data away from the main linux drive, hopefully so that I won't lose anything if I switch distros, or have a problem like I did originally on that disc, when my suse os went down (I still don't know what went wrong, but all the data files are there, I accessed them with knoppix running from cd).
Should I make /hdb my /home directory, or is there a better way? Through the gui, I am unable to view the contents of hdb.currently.
