a bit lost with nvidia 3d support...

I installed fedora core, than procede to update my system thru red carpet after having carefully followed these instructions

I edited /etc/inittab to reboot in text mode. I did the exportCC=gcc32 and installed the nvidia driver 5328 (.run file). I then modified my XF86Config like it is said in the nvidia readme and rebooted. First thing I noticed is I lost the screen when you have the choice to see details while it boots. It<s just a black screen now, until I get to the login screen. I can see the nvidia splash screen. But if I run glxgears, I get 2 to 3 fps on my geforce 4 ti4200. I looked log but it doesn't give any errors.

Now what should I do? and most importantly, how would I do it, I'm pretty noob when it comes to these kind of things....

Thanks

Yanik

Did you comment out 'Load "dri"' and add 'Load "glx"' to your XF86Config? Those two things do make a difference. Another thing you can do is add these lines in your XF86Config right after 'Driver "nvidia"':
Code:
Option "NoLogo" "True"
Option "NvAGP" "3"
Option "RenderAccel" "True"
Restart X and I hope you get things working.

already done that, but adding your code bumped my fps to 6.....

How would I uninstall the current one and try the 4496 one?

Thanks

Are you sure you installed the correct .run file? See my post (a few threads before yours) about ATI32, ATI64, etc...you seem to know a lot about what you're saying, and I apologize if you already know all this, but I figure I might as well throw the thought out there. Good luck!

To uninstall run 'nvidia-installer --uninstall'. Then download the 4496 drivers and install them.
