32 bit architecture

Hello everybody,

I have been using Redhat 8, like it a lot, all the warm and fuzzy stuff.
Looking to change to Fedora Core 2 right now. I went to the Fedora page to check for Compatibility issues, and I saw something quite alarming.

In the CPU requirements for Fedora Core 2, it looks like it's saying a 64bit processor is required?! Here is the webpage:
fedora.redhat.com/docs/release-notes/

I was sceptical about this, since that would mean about 95% of end users would be out of luck, but yet, there it is.

Can anybody tell me if this is true, or if Core 2 has a kernel version for 64bit architecture and 32 bit architecture. How can I tell the difference?

Also, does anybody know a good reliable source for hardware compatibility? I have checked the HCL and didn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks.

http://fedora.redhat.com/download/#download

just select the download for the 32 bit architecture ;)

as of the HCL, if i was unsure i would just google it on www.google.ca/linux ...
or you can just mention what your looking for and someone could probably tell ya ...

No, Fedora core 2 can most definately take 32 bits. I am pretty sure that every linux distro does.

I'm using it on a 32-bit machine. ISO's loaded from the fedora link off redhat's
page.

Thanks everybody for reply. That is what I thought, just wanted to double check.

How do you guys like Fedora? Is it everything a successor to Redhat should be?
