2.6 (custom build) and cdroms
hey there all!
i've just built a custom 2.6 kernel and it boots fine. one thing however, is the lack of my cd devices working(1 dvd rom, and 1 cdrw/dvd drive(external)). i've compiled in all the needed support, but at some point fedora has deleted the device nodes AND the entries in /etc/fstab. i'm a bit stumped as to how to fix it. i'm not sure where the new nodes are?!(or if they exist!) cdrecord -scanbus segfaults immediately, and detecting the decices with xcdroast wont work either (i figure it uses cdrecord -scanbus for detection also?) so has anyone got any ideas? with fedora's stock 2.4 kernel, my internal cdrom was on /dev/hdc and my external was on(i think) /dev/scd0 many thanks for reading folks! paul. |
I sort of have this problem, not quite as bad.. see thread
Hope that gives you some pointers |
