Synaptic isn't starting

Ok, I installed Synaptic (which came with feather) and when I click the icon nothing happens. I looked at the link of .xdesktop and it said the start command was:
sudo synaptic
so I tried that in aterm and that did nothing...
Please Help me I am very new to linux

What happens when you enter
Code:
#which synaptic
and
Code:
#find / -name synaptic
